As Sunon breaks ground on further expanding their Philippines manufacturing facilities, first opened in 2022, Gelec has now switched from China so that the Philippines facility is our primary source of AC, EC & DC fans and blowers. We have established shipping routes from Manilla that help to minimise disruption for our clients; something partially caused by the congestion in ports such as YanTian and Hong Kong.
Product Manager, George Bunn, believes that “having manufacturing sites in multiple locations will deliver stability” to a market impacted by the events of recent years. He adds that “having the capability to mirror production means that we have the agility to switch location and react quickly to unforeseen challenges that may lie ahead”.
As the market leader in cooling fans and thermal management solutions, Sunon has already increased production in Bataan, now producing up to 3M pieces per month. As part of Sunon’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), the new plant has been built with energy saving and carbon reduction at its core. Sunon is committed to using renewable energy and have teamed up with the leading provider in the Philippines, Aboitiz Power. Plus, Sunon’s energy saving BLDC ceiling fans have been installed to reduce electricity consumption.
The new site will help to increase output to keep up with continued demand for Sunon products as a trusted brand in thermal solutions. Additional benefits such as disaster response and recovery, plus having access to multiple air and sea ports, local to each production facility mean that Sunon is now in a strong position to mitigate any challenges that lay ahead.
