At G. English Electronics we take your privacy very seriously. This document sets out the rules we follow regarding how we use any personal information we collect/hold about you and your rights to access the personal information we hold.

What is personal information?

‘Personal information’ means any information relating to an individual, which can identify them, either directly or indirectly. It can refer, amongst other things, to an identification number, or to one or more specific identifying pieces of information, such as an address or date of birth.

What information we collect and how it is obtained

We obtain this information when you correspond with us, whether by phone, email or in person with any employee of Gelec. We would also get this information on our website when you fill out our enquiry form.

We may then collect the following personal information:

  • Name
  • Job Title
  • Email address
  • Phone/ mobile number

When setting up an account with us, or paying for products with a credit card, we will ask for additional payment/billing details.

How your information will be used

We use your information for the following:

  • To allow us to handle your orders, deliver products and process your payments and credits.
  • To keep you updated about your orders with us.
  • To keep a record of when and why you contact us and to keep your contact details up-to-date.
  • For statistical, analytical or survey purposes – so we can improve our websites and our services to you

When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. We do not store or record cookies on our website. If this changes in the future, we will let our users know.

Your personal information may be processed by us or our service providers outside the European Economic Area in countries that don’t have the same standards of protection for personal information as the UK.

If your personal information is processed outside the European Economic Area we will ensure that your personal information will be adequately protected as required by data protection law. However, the only information we share would be in the form of drawings or specifications supplied by you. If you object to any data being shared, please ensure this information is removed from these documents or we are informed at the time of submission that this information is not to be shared.

We use WorldPay to process credit card payments. Your personal information and credit card details will be processed on our behalf by WorldPay. We will ensure that your personal information will be adequately protected as required by data protection law.

We will disclose any of your personal information to any third party where we are under a duty to do so in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or protect any of our rights, property or safety (or those of our customers).

Protecting your information

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you and we never disclose the personal information we hold without prior agreement.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal information for marketing purposes. You can opt out of receiving further marketing contact from Gelec by sending an email to at any time and we will process your request promptly.

If you have any concerns about the way your information is processed you can contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)

For the purposes of data protection legislation we are the data controller for your personal data. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK with reference ZA387482.
