The Range

Known as the ‘GF Series’, SUNON has designed a range of fans which are built to perform in even the most challenging of conditions.

Certified to IP56 or IP68, operation in environments containing severe levels of dust, sand or water is still achievable. In conditions where the fan could be subjected to corrosives, such as coastal/marine environments, GR487 protection is recommended to achieve optimum life expectancy.

The IP Process

We recommend discussing your specific conditions with us so that the most suitable IP process can be applied for the intended environment.

Level 1 & 2: Conformal Coating.

This method of protection can cover from IP21 up to IP66. This coating forms a polymeric film, protecting the PCB from dust and moisture. This is typically used in applications where there are moderate levels of dust/moisture, or perhaps subject to rainwater.

Level 3: Parylene Coating

This method covers IP67 – IP68. The coating also appears as a thin film; however, this has increased capacity to protect against water and chemicals, making it better suited to applications that see high levels of fluid or corrosives, such as cleaning fluids for food / medical environments.

Level 4: Potting

This method covers IP68 + GR487 protection. This option fully encloses the PCB, giving the strongest protection against harsh outdoor conditions. As part of the GR487 protection, this method also undergoes salt spray testing.

Additional Wires and Custom Solutions

As with the DC range of fans and blowers, the GF series is available with additional wires for tacho feedback (F type) and Pulse Width Modulation. This helps to give you the feedback and control needed to deliver the performance your device requires.

Wires can be adjusted to suit and a connector of your choice added so the fans arrive ready for your assembly lines.

Managed Logistics

Economies of scale delivered through larger order quantities help you manage unit costs. We will store them for you, shipping them to your assembly location on an agreed schedule. We will work with you to forecast when you need to order more stock so you never run out too. We also keep a range of standard fans in stock at our UK Head Office.
