Our customers come from all sectors of industry including automotive, consumer, medical and instrumentation. The earlier you get us involved in your projects the more quickly you will see the sorts benefits they have shared over the years. From extensive experience in the design and manufacture of bespoke plastic injection moulding tooling and parts, through post-mould processing including screen printing and painting, to RFI shielding, sub-assembly and custom packaging, we provide you with a 360° service of advice and support.

Quality control at every part of the process

In the first instance Gelec products are accredited to ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards and are REACH, RoHS and Conflict Materials compliant. We offer you Rapid Prototyping to prove concept prior to tooling commitment, with Design for Manufacture available prior to tooling to identify possible manufacturing issues or complexities. Tooling General Assembly drawings are shared in advance of tool manufacture to determine cavity arrangement, split lines, gate locations, ejector pins etc. We identify split lines, sprue and witness marks from ejector points for cosmetic appearance.

Our UK-based project management team will oversee any new or modified tooling requirements and full approval of samples, and we regularly monitor tool health to identify potential supply risks and the need for replacement tooling.

Adding value beyond production

You will receive regular progress updates from your dedicated project manager enabling a less “hands-on” approach, removing your requirement for overseas travel – costly from both a time and financial perspective. Our account management team will monitor consumption rates and keep you informed of changes to lead times, with the objective of ensuring uninterrupted, cost-effective supply.

Supply arrangements are designed to maximise manufacturing lot sizes – delivering greater consistency whilst optimising your costs. We also support you by warehousing, both in the UK and Hong Kong, to support scheduled deliveries or ‘Just In Time’ requirements on a global basis. We can customise packaging to optimise transport costs and maximise handling efficiencies on your assembly lines. Options for recyclable packaging and removing single-use plastics are available upon request.

Production overview

Our factories are strategically located close to Gelec Shenzhen Office and Hong Kong Logistics Centre + YanTian Sea Port and Shenzhen BaoAn International Airport and guarantee the following capabilities:

  • Injection Mould machines, ranging from 60T to 800T
  • Capability with both Over Mould and Twin Shot tooling
  • Post-mould processing including screen printing, painting, RFI shielding, sub-assembly and custom packaging

All of our factories have English-speaking project managers. The Gelec Logistics Centre based in Hong Kong supports requirements across Asia and the Americas, whilst products destined for the UK and Europe are warehoused in London.
