Extensive range
SUNON’s extensive DC offering covers a wide range of sizes, each with different voltage, bearing and speed variations to suit every application.
Ingress Protection
For applications where high levels of dust or moisture are likely, we encourage additional protection. IP21 conformal coating is applied to the fan PCB and is recommended for devices likely to encounter high humidity or steam. For outdoor applications or devices likely to come into contact with high levels of dust, IP55 is delivered through a double-dip conformal coating process and a covering with protective resin. Parylene coating is recommended for applications where the fan will be subjected to corrosives, such as salt water or cleaning fluids.
For applications where the fan will be subjected to severely harsh conditions or even submerged in fluid, SUNON also offer an extensive range of IP68 and GR487.
Additional Wires for Feedback & Control
Feedback on fan operation is a useful function for applications where the fan is critical. Locked rotor detection (R type) uses a square wave signal to signify that the fan is/is not operating. Tacho feedback (F type) measures RPM and can be utilised either to alert of early signs of fan failure (so the device can be serviced and replacement fitted prior to failure), or to fix fan performance.
As there is a direct relationship between RPM (speed) and CFM (airflow), many choose to deploy an open loop system to adjust voltage to secure the correct speed. This method of control delivers consistent performance, and removes any impact of batch variation.
Custom Solutions
Standard fans are often useful when parts are needed quickly and forward planning isn’t possible. However, in most cases they’ll need some form of adjustment prior to your final assembly. Lead adjustments and the addition of connectors means additional processing. Our preference is always to supply fans/blowers that are ready for your assembly line. With wires cut to length and connectors fitted, reduced handling mitigates the risk of damage.
Packaging and labelling are other common customisation requests, delivering efficiencies with transport, goods inwards inspection and on assembly lines.
